JOHNSON, Vt. – The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's tennis team swept Northern Vermont University-Lyndon 9-0 in their home opener on Saturday afternoon.
DOUBLES
Grace Page (Bennington, Vt) and Mikayla Messier (Sheldon, Vt) started the day strong for the Badgers, taking their match 8-3. Sam Kershner (Essex, Vt) and Rebecca Simon (New Prague, MN), as well as Elizabeth Chitambar (Newport, Vt) and Iris Serrano (Stowe, Vt) walked away from their matches with 8-0 victories.
SINGLES
The Badgers went 6-6 in singles matches versus the Hornets. In the first singles matchup, Page was victorious over Lyndon's Savannah Jackson 6-2 and 6-0. Simon, Messier, and Chitambar held their opponents scoreless in 6-0, 6-0 defeats.
