Women's Tennis Fall to Plymouth State 9-0

JOHNSON, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's tennis team fell to Plymouth State by a score of 9-0 on Monday afternoon. With the loss the Badgers fall to 3-4 overall. 

 

SINGLES

 Plymouth State controlled singles play for the day.

 1. Maggie McCarthy (PSU) def. Grace Page (NVUJ) 6-2, 6-2

2. Irene Kigugu (PSU) def. Mikayla Messier (NVUJ) 6-4, 6-0

3. Jenna Sundquist (PSU) def. Elizabeth Chitambar (NVUJ) 6-3, 6-2

4. Kerstin Venincasa (PSU) def. Sam Kershner (NVUJ) 6-1, 6-0

5. Brie Hada (PSU) def. Rebecca Simon (NVUJ) 6-4, 6-3

6. Julie Miller (PSU) def. Kristen Tirrito (NVUJ) 6-1, 6-0

 

 DOUBLES

 Plymouth continued their solid play going into doubles and captured wins in every doubles match. 

 1. Maggie McCarthy/Irene Kigugu (PSU) def. Grace Page/Mikayla Messier (NVUJ) 8-1

2. Jenna Sundquist/Kerstin Venincasa (PSU) def. Sam Kershner/Rebecca Simon (NVUJ) 8-0

3. Julie Miller/Lexi Smith (PSU) def. Elizabeth Chitambar/Leah Gaboury (NVUJ) 8-6

 

With the win Plymouth improves to 6-2 and NVU-Johnson fall to 3-4 overall.
