JOHNSON-Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's tennis team swept Thomas College in a North Atlantic Conference match on Saturday afternoon. The Badgers won by a score of 9-0.
SINGLES
The Badgers were strong in singles play for the day. Grace Page (Bennington,Vt.) was dominate in number one singles. Page beat her opponent by a score of 6-1,6-0. In number two singles Mikayla Messier (Sheldon,Vt.) had a similar outcome. She won her singles match by scores of 6-0,6-1 over Thomas's Samantha Mercier. Elizabeth Chitambar (Newport, Vt.) won by a score of 6-0,6-0. Sam Kershner (Essex,Vt.), Rebecca Simon (New Praque,MN) and Leah Gaboury (Saint Albans,Vt.) also came out victorious in their singles matches. The Badgers were 6-0 in singles play on the day.
DOUBLES
Page and Messier started off doubles play for the Badgers. They beat Cassidy Hamm and Samantha Mercier by a score of 8-0. Kershner and Chitambar won their doubles match by a score of 8-0. Simon and Gaboury closed things out for the Badgers as they won by a score of 8-1.
With the win the Badgers improve to 4-5 overall.
