Badgers Drop Conference Match to Lynx

JOHNSON, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's tennis team dropped their match on Saturday afternoon to Lesley University by a score of 7-2.

DOUBLES

Grace Page and Samantha Kershner continued to team up as the Badgers No. 1 doubles team but were edged by Lesley's Maddie Abbott and Grace Jovanovich by a score of 8-4. Iris Serrano and Kayla Hammond represented the Badgers in No. 2 doubles and lost the match by a score of 8-4 to the Lynx's Morgan Anderson and Mary Pulling. In the final doubles match it was Kristen Tirrito and Sarah Sylvain but the Lynx ousted the Badgers as Summer Lamprey and Joselyn Martinez won by a score of 8-1.

 

SINGLES

Page opened up singles action on fire winning by a score of 6-3, 6-2, but it was Lesley who captured No. 2 singles as Anderson edged Kershner by a score of 6-4, 6-4. Serrano took No. 3 singles in a tie break set as she beat out Pulling by a score of 6-3, 4-6, 1-0. Lesley gathered their composure and won the remaining matches to capture a 7-2 win on the afternoon.

 

With the loss the Badgers fall to 0-3 and 0-1 in NAC play on the season and Lesley improves to 2-1 and 1-0 in conference play
