Women's Tennis Drop Conference Match to Husson University 9-0

BANGOR, ME- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's tennis team were outplayed by Husson University Sunday morning. The Eagles earned a 9-0 win over the Badgers.

DOUBLES

The duo of Grace Page and Kristen Tirrito competed in No. 1 doubls for the Badgers but were outplayed by the Eagles Natalie Tilton and Hannah Malinen by a score of 8-1. The Eagles controlled the remaining doubles matches as Ashley Matlock and Nicci Munroe captured the win over Samantha Kershner and Kayla Hammond by a score of 8-2. The Eagles Marisa Brown and Jocelyn Bell closed out doubles play beating Iris Serrano and Sarah Sylvain 8-2.

SINGLES

Page faced off against Matlock in No. 1 singles, Matlock captured the win in a tiebreaker set. Kershner dropped No. 2 singles against Tilton by a score of 6-0, 6-0. The Eagles remained in control in No. 3 singles as Manalia beat out Hammond 6-0, 6-0. Serrano and Tirrito were edged in No. 4 and No. 5 singles. Husson concluded the afternoon sweeping singles play.

With the loss the Badgers drop to 1-8 on the season and 1-3 in North Atlantic Conference play.
