STOWE, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's tennis team opened up the 2021 season at Top Notch against conference opponent Thomas College. The Badgers earned the win by a score of 7-2.

Mason Lores and Rebecca Simon took the first doubles match of the afternoon winning 8-6, 10-8 while Kayla Hammond and Nicole Mooney earned the win 8-6. The Badgers took the win by default in the final doubles match heading into singles action.

It was the Badgers who took singles action as Simon earned the win in No.2 singles. Mia Blackwell and Annika Dyhrberg each earned their first career wins in their singles match. Blackwell took the win by a score of 6-3, 6-2 while Dyhrberg won in the tiebreaker 6-1, 6-7, 14-12.

With the win the Badgers move to 1-0 on the season and 1-0 in North Atlantic Conference play.
