Badgers Drop Pair in Tri-Match

CANTON, N.Y. – The Johnson State College volleyball team fell to St. Lawrence and Southern Vermont in a tri-match on Friday afternoon.

The Badgers record falls to 1-4 on the season.

MATCH 1 vs. St. Lawrence

The Badgers went down in the first set, 25-8. Johnson was able to mount stronger offense in the second set, but ultimately lost 25-11. St. Lawrence put the Badgers away with a 25-7 third set victory.

STATS LEADERS

Kaitlin Boucher (Barre, Vt.) led Johnson with 2 kills. Laurel Hubbert-Severance (Hinesburg, Vt.) had two assists to lead the team.

MATCH 2 vs. Southern Vermont

Southern Vermont jumped out to the early lead with a 25-12 first set win. The Mountaineers kept rolling in the second set, winning 25-6. Johnson was unable to pick up the third set despite their highest set total of the day, falling 25-13.

STATS LEADERS

Kimberly Reville (Burke, N.Y.) led the Badgers with six kills in the match. Breanna Laughlin (San Jacinto, Calif.) added another five kills, three assists, and two aces.

NEXT UP

The Badgers have another pair of matches tomorrow on the road, first facing SUNY Potsdam at 12:00 PM, followed by Cegep Andre Laurendeau at 2:00 PM.
