Badgers Fall in Tri-Match at MCLA

NORTH ADAMS, MASS. – The Johnson State College volleyball team fell to MCLA and Wells in a tri-match on Saturday.

The Badgers record falls to 2-16 on the season.

MATCH 1 vs. MCLA

The Badgers went down in the first set, 25-8. The Trailblazers kept rolling in the second set, winning 25-15. Johnson fought back in the third set, but were unable to hold MCLA off and fell 25-21.

STATS LEADERS

Breanna Laughlin (San Jacinto, Calif.) led Johnson with seven kills and added seven digs. Kaitlin Boucher (Barre, Vt.) led all scorers with 14 digs, while Laurel Hubbert-Severance (Hinesburg, Vt.) paced the squad with ten assists.

MATCH 2 vs. Wells

The Badgers dropped the first set of the match 25-7. In the second set, Wells upped the pressure, with 30 total attacks, and won the set 25-12. Johnson was once again stronger in the third, but ultimately lost 25-15.

STATS LEADERS

Laughlin led the Badgers again with four kills to go along with seven digs. Kimberly Reville (Burke, N.Y.) and Boucher added seven digs more digs each for the Badgers

The Badgers will host their final home contest of the season on Friday, October 14th against the University of Maine Presque Isle at 6:00 p.m. Breanna Laughlin and Laurel Hubbert-Severance will be recognized before the match for senior day.
