JOHNSON, VT. – The Johnson State College volleyball team fell to the University of Maine Presque Isle 3-0 on Friday evening in a non-conference match in Carter Gymnasium.
Johnson falls to 2-17 overall on the while UMPI improves to 4-19.
FIRST SET
The Owls dominated the first set, not allowing Johnson to reach double digits and won 25-9.
SECOND SET
Johnson fought back in the second, but ultimately dropped the set 25-15.
THIRD SET
In the third, the teams remained even through the majority of the set, leading to a 21-21 tie late in the frame. UMPI was able to make a late surge to take the set 25-21.
STATS LEADERS
Breanna Laughlin (San Jacinto, Calif.) led Johnson with a match-high 12 kills and eight digs. Kimberly Reville (Burke, N.Y.) added four kills and six digs. Laurel Hubbert-Severance led the Johnson offense with 16 assists.
NEXT UP
Johnson will take on UMPI again, as well as Husson on Saturday, October 15th. The tri-match will be held at Lyndon State.
