VB: Johnson Drops a Pair of NAC Matches

JOHNSON, Vt. – The Johnson State College volleyball team fell to Husson and Maine Maritime Academy in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play on Saturday. The Badgers drop to 0-11 on the season and 0-3 in conference play.

MATCH 1 vs. Husson

The Eagles (11-8, 2-0 NAC) came out strong to take the opening set 25-4. Husson started the second set on a 10-0 run and cruised to a 25-7 win. Johnson grabbed the first two points of the third set, but Husson rallied back and took the set 25-8 for the 3-0 victory.

STATS LEADERS

Elyssa Kornbrath (Manchester, Conn.) led Johnson with two kills, while Kimberly Reville (Burke, N.Y.) added three assists and two digs.

MATCH 2 vs. Maine Maritime Academy

Maine Maritime (12-7, 2-0 NAC) took the first set 25-3. The Mariners kept on rolling with a 25-4 second set victory. The Badgers were unable to hold Maine Maritime off in the third and fell 25-6.

STATS LEADERS

Kornbrath earned a kill for the Badgers while Reville and Kayla Atkinson (North Wolcott, Vt.) added two digs each.
