Badgers Win Big in NVU-Lyndon Tri-Match

LYNDONVILLLE, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's volleyball competed in a tri-match on Sunday. The Badgers competed against Northern Vermont University-Lyndon and Castleton University. 

 In the first match the Badgers faced NVU-Lyndon and came out on top 3-0. With the win the Badgers improve to 7-6 and have won their fourth match in a row. Nikola Knapova (Presov,Slovakia) and Brooke Scheier (Milford,NJ) lead the way for the Badgers in the first set. Knapova had 12 kills while Scheier had 10 kills. The Badgers took all three sets convincingly. The first set the Badgers won by a score of 25-14. Junior Kimberly Reville (Burke,N.Y.) was also an impact for the Badgers as she added 9 kills and 7 digs.. The Badgers continued to dominate Lyndon as they won the second set by a score of 25-12 and the third set by a score of 25-11.

 

 In the second match of the day the Badgers faced Castleton University. The Badgers are 1-0 against Castleton prior to this match. On Tuesday, September 18 the Badgers beat the Spartans by a score of 3-0.

The Badgers started off strong as they took the first set by a score of 25-17. They continued to control the match the next two sets by beating the Spartans by scores of 25-18 and 25-19. Knapova was dominate in the match with 16 kills and 16 digs. Scheier added 12 kills as well. Julie Van Etten (Montrose,PA) had a match best 42 assists. With the win the Badgers improve to 8-6 overall.
