Badgers Beat Green Mountain College 3-1

JOHNSON, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's volleyball team topped Green Mountain College on Sunday afternoon. The Badgers won the match by a score of 3-1.

 The Badgers came out strong in the first set of the day winning by a score of 25-20. The Eagles challenged the Badgers throughout the entire set but the Badgers continued to have consisted attacks and were strong defensively. In the second set of the match the Eagles were too much for the Badgers as they got ahead early and never looked back winning by a score of 25-14. In the third and fourth set of the match the Badgers found energy and executed at a high level winning by scores of 25-19 and 25-16.

Nikola Knapova (Presov, Slovakia) continued her impressive performance like she has done all season. Knapova had 21 kills on the day leading all players. Julie Van Etten (Montrose, PA) was impressive by collecting 34 assists. With the win the Badgers improve to 9-6 overall as they head into conference play for the remainder of the regular season.

The Badgers will travel to NVU-Lyndon on Saturday, October 13 and face off against Husson University at 12:00pm and Maine Maritime at 2:00pm.
