Badgers Oust Bobcats 3-0

JOHNSON, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's volleyball team outlasted Paul Smith's College on Monday evening by a score of 3-0. 

The Badgers came off a strong weekend winning the Vermont Volleyball Classic over Norwich University by a deciding set. They were back in action Monday evening against Paul Smith's College.

Aleesia Smith lead the Badgers to victory with 10 kills and two service aces. Nikola Knapova had a strong outing for the Badgers as she contributed seven kills on 26 total attacks and 12 digs. NVU-Johnson took the first set in convincing fashion winning 25-14. 

Headed into the second stint of action the team carried over their composure and were dominant winning the set by a score of 25-13. Freshman Ashley Emery provided four kills and seven digs. 

In the third set the Bobcats competed and had strong performances by Meaghan Hardeman who contributed four kills. The Badgers played with a mixed lineup in the final set and eventually took the set by a score of 25-20. Mason Lores was consistent setting the Badgers for 20 points on the evening.

With the win the Badgers improve to 4-1 overall.

UP NEXT

Women's Volleyball will head to NVU-Lyndon on Saturday, September 7 where they will compete in a tri-match against the Hornets and Mitchell College. Action begins at 1:00pm.
