Badgers finishes 6th in own JSC Invitational

JOHNSON, Vt. - Johnson women's cross country experienced a sixth place team finish on Saturday at their own 2012 JSC Invitational.  Husson University won the event with a score of 27 while Colby-Sawyer College was the runner-up with a tally of 49.

Husson's Alecia Palmer was the top individual finisher in a time of 20:58.2 while Colby-Sawyer's Emily Urquhart came in second at 21:03.7.  Husson finished first, third, fifth, sixth, and 12th in the race for the commanding victory.

The Badgers saw sophomore Jill Porter (Springvale, Maine/Sanford) come in 10th place to lead the team while freshman Bria Wolters (Barre, Vt./Spaulding) was next in 37th place.  Shelby DavisLane (Dummerston, Vt./Brattleboro) came in 39th, Jackie Caron (Grand Isle, Vt./Essex) was 41st, Amanda Bortlein (Ludlow, Vt./Grand Isle) was 42nd, Dallas Desblois (Readsboro, Vt./McCann Tech) was 44th, and Anna Allen (Shelburne, Vt./CVU) was 46th.

Johnson will next compete on Saturday, September 29 at the Vermont State Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships at Lyndon State College.
