Johnson women's cross country opened the season with a seventh place finish in the nine team Mayflower Kick-Off hosted by New England College. Salve Regina took four of the first ten finishes capturing first place in the Mayflower Kickoff hosted by New England College Friday evening. The Seahawks were followed by Husson University in second and fellow North Atlantic Conference (NAC) school Colby-Sawyer College in third.
Leading the way for the women was Amy Irving who finished the 5K race in a time of 19:28. Irving was followed closely by Seahawk teammate Victoria Varone who clocked in with a time of 19:32 and Babson College's Marina Capalbo who finished in 19:49.
