The Badgers saw captain Jill Porter finish in the top five to secure a fourth place finish at the 2013 Vermont State Championship hosted by Castleton State College on Saturday.
Johnson took fourth by scoring 126 points. St. Mike's (DII) took first place with a score of 16, followed by Norwich with a score of 72 and then hosts Castleton who totaled 87 to round out the top three.
Porter was Johnson's top finisher, taking fifth overall with her time of 21:00 which was a career personal record all while breaking St. Mike's chance of earning a perfect score. Porter's fifth place finish placed her on the Vermont All-State team alongside teammates Brendan Walsh and Steven Lamonde from Johnson's men's team.
The Badgers have the week off before they return to action when they race at the Runnin' Monks Invitational hosted by St. Joe's on October 12th.
