Castleton University claimed four of the top five finishes en route to first place in the 9th annual Green Mountain College Invitational 5K meet on Saturday afternoon.
The Spartans paced the field, finishing with a team score of 20 points. Sage College claimed the runner up spot by posting a team score of 56, while Green Mountain took third place with 70 points.
Johnson State finished fourth overall.
Castleton's Elizabeth Bassette was the top runner in the meet finishing with a time of 20:28. Her teammates Haley Kennedy and Molly O'Callaghan claimed second and third place with times of 20:45 and 21:02, respectively.
Sage's Hannah Tighe took fourth place overall finishing the 5K distance in a time of 21:37. Castleton's Caitlin Ryan rounded out the top five runners with a time of 21:42.
