Badgers Host Johnson State Invitational

JOHNSON, VT. – The Johnson State College men's and women's cross country hosted ten other teams in the Johnson State Invitational on Saturday. The women finished 4th, their best finish at the event in five years, while the men finished 10th.

MEN'S RECAP

Jacob Greenia (Sheldon, Vt.) and Jason Harris (Lyndonville, Vt.) were the top finishers for Johnson, finishing 55th and 68th with times of 32:42.3 and 34:20.7, respectively. Kyle Duffy (Waterbury Center, Vt.), Erik Crosby (Springfield, Vt.), and Cole Shebak (Brookline, N.H.) also scored for Johnson State.

WOMENS RECAP

Brynn Cairns (Rutland, Vt.) was first to cross the finish line for the Badgers coming in 18th with a time of 23:11.2. Emily McCarthy (Farmington, Maine) was Johnson's next finisher, coming in 20th with a time of 23:43.8. Other runners for the Badgers included Sarah Sodaro (Monkton, Vt.), Kate Abdel-Fatah (Randolph, Vt.), Briana Walsh (Allenstown, N.H.), and Alyssa August (Granby, Conn.).

The Badgers will travel to Saint Michael's College on September 30th for the Vermont State Meet.
