Johnson State Hosts 2016 NAC Cross Country Championships

JOHNSON, VT. – The Johnson State College men's and women's cross country hosted ten other teams in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championships on Saturday. The women finished 6th, with the men finishing 10th.

WOMENS RECAP

Brynn Cairns (Rutland, Vt.) was first to cross the finish line for the Badgers coming in 14th with a time of 23:24.9. Emily McCarthy (Farmington, Maine) was Johnson's next finisher, coming in 24th with a time of 24:17.9. Other runners for the Badgers included Shelby Rosten (Groton, Vt.), Sarah Sodaro (Monkton, Vt.), Lily Denmeade (Quchee, Vt.), Kate Abdel-Fatah (Randolph, Vt.), Alyssa August (Granby, Conn.), Briana Walsh (Allenstown, N.H.), and Chelby Nystrom (Brookline, Vt.).

MEN'S RECAP

Jacob Greenia (Sheldon, Vt.) was the top finisher for Johnson, placing 60th with a time of 33:11.6. Kyle Duffy (Waterbury Center, Vt.) was the second Badger to finishing in 34:25.5, good for 68th. Jason Harris (Lyndonville, Vt.), Cole Shebak (Brookline, N.H.), and Erik Crosby (Springfield, Vt.) also ran for Johnson State.

The NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships will be held on Saturday, November 12 at Westfield State University.
