2018 Women's XC Season Recap

JOHNSON, VT.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's cross-country team capped off the 2018 season competing in the North Atlantic Conference Championship.

Head coach Shawn Woods brings 35 years of experience to this year's Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's and women's cross country team.

In the beginning of the season the NVU-Johnson men's and women's cross-country team competed in the Lobster Dash in Oqunquit, Maine. The Lobster Dash is a unique 5-mile race, raced entirely on the beach at low tide with the course going from Ogunquit Beach to Moody Beach. The teams spent time training on the beach and near the ocean.

The team spent time working with The Center for America's First Horse for community service. The team shoveled horse manure, broke down fences and put up new ones, hauled brush, and got to hang out with the horses.

Lily Denmeade (Hartland, Vt.) earned a spot in the NCAA Division III Northeast Regional finishing in the top 20 in the NAC Championship. Denmeade finished 19thoverall with a time of 23:55.
