Chad Copeland named Assistant Athletic Director for Communication

Johnson, VT – Northern Vermont University Associate Dean of Athletics and Recreation Jamey Ventura announced the hiring of Chad Copeland as the Assistant Athletics Director for Communications. 

 "First and fore most I want to thank President Elaine Collins, Associate Dean of Athletics and Recreation Jamey Ventura and the rest of the hiring committee for this amazing opportunity," says Copeland. "I am very excited to be part of the new Northern Vermont University tradition and I can't wait to get started."

 Copeland comes to Northern Vermont University – Johnson following one year as the Director of Athletics at Twinfield Union School. At Twinfield, Copeland was responsible for all facets of athletic operation for grades K-12.

 Prior to his time at Twinfield Union School, Copeland was the athletics intern at Green Mountain College. Copeland did the majority of his work as an assistant Sports Information Director while also assisted the athletic staff in the coordination and management of games and practices.

 In 2016, Copeland also spent time as the operational intern at Spartan Arena where he was responsible for coordinating and scheduling for the arena.

 Copeland is a 2017 graduate from Castleton University, earning a Master of Science in Athletic Leadership degree and a Bachelor of Science in Sports Administration degree. Copeland was a standout athlete at Castleton University where he was a member on the men's basketball team from 2012-2017. Copeland played in 117 games, while starting 93 of those games. He ranks fourth all time in points, third in rebounds and fourth in blocked shots.
