Men’s Volleyball Tops VTSU Johnson Twice Saturday

QUINCY, Mass. – The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team rolled to a pair of 3-0 victories over Vermont State Johnson Saturday at the Lahue Athletic Center to wrap up the regular season.

MATCH ONE
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Eastern Nazarene cruised to a 25-15 win in the first frame to grab a 1-0 edge.
• The Lions posted a 25-13 decision in the second to widen the margin to 2-0.
• The home side claimed the third set 25-11 to secure its sixth-consecutive conference victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, P.R.) finished with 11 kills, six digs, and five service aces.
• Delfy Soler (Lawrence, Mass.) notched seven kills while Jacob Lotts (Mission Viejo, Calif.) added five kills.
• Jacob Zarges (Quincy, Mass.) chipped in with five aces and four kills.
• Aaron Huang (Quincy, Mass.) dished out 19 assists and Christopher Gil (Lawrence, Mass.) registered eight assists.
• Luke Walters paced Vermont State Johnson with seven kills and six digs while Spencer Tergeoglou posted 12 assists.

• The Lions seized a 1-0 lead after chalking up a 25-18 victory in the opening set.
• Eastern Nazarene prevailed 25-18 in the second frame to extend its advantage to 2-0.
• The hosts captured the third 25-20 to run their winning-streak to five-straight matches.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, P.R.) racked up a match-high nine kills while adding five digs.
• Delfy Soler (Lawrence, Mass.) tallied eight kills and 10 digs while Matthew Mucha (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) also recorded eight kills.
• Christopher Gil (Lawrence, Mass.) finished with 32 assists.
