
Men’s Volleyball Tops NVU-Johnson 3-0 on Senior Day
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team collected a 3-0 victory over Northern Vermont-Johnson Saturday afternoon at the Lahue Athletic Center.
The Lions improve to 11-10 on the season and 2-3 in the New England Collegiate Conference with the win. The Badgers fall to 3-16 overall and 0-5 in league action with the setback.
Prior to the start of the match, the Eastern Nazarene men's volleyball team honored its lone senior: Brandon Brown (Oxford, Pa.).
Jacob Zarges (Quincy, Mass.) posted a match-best nine kills. Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, P.R.) racked up six kills and seven service aces. Christopher Gil (Lawrence, Mass.) dished out 13 assists while Aaron Huang (Quincy, Mass.) notched 10 assists.
The hosts cruised to a 25-14 victory in the opening set to capture a 1-0 lead.
Eastern Nazarene extended its advantage to 2-0 with a 25-15 decision in the second frame.
The Lions eked out a 25-23 win in the third to clinch the sweep.
Zachary Anderson paced Northern Vermont-Johnson with six kills. Eli Harden registered 11 assists while Wyatt Moberg and Dominic Phelps each finished with seven digs.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene heads to No. 1 Springfield for a non-conference tri-match with SUNY Poly March 26.
