JOHNSON, VERMONT – The Fisher College Women's Soccer team scored three goals in the opening half and held on for the 3-2 victory this afternoon against Northern Vermont University – Johnson at Mineart Field. The win lifts the Falcons to an even .500 record at 2-2-1, extending their unbeaten streak to three games, while the Badgers fall to 0-4-2 on the year.

The Falcons jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage within the few minutes of action. Sophomore Kelly Wallace (Hingham, Mass.) received a pass from classmate Jenna McCullough (Buffalo Grove, Ill.), dribbled down the far side line before sending a cross to the front of the net where fellow sophomore Stephanie Faiella (East Boston, Mass.) knocked it home for her first goal of the season and the early advantage for Fisher.

NVU-Johnson found the equalizer in the 11th minute when freshman Eva Hebert (Plainfield, Vt.) netted her first career tally after collecting a loose ball and fired a shot to the back of the net.

Fisher then tallied two more goals before the halftime whistle sounded as Wallace converted on a perfectly executed through ball from freshman Sophia Graves (Signal Hill, Calif.) in the 34th minute and then added an unassisted goal in the 42nd minute.

The Badgers climbed within one during the 72nd minute as senior Madelyn House (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.) was able to lift a shot from about 30 yards out and tucked in just under the crossbar for her first goal of the year. However that was all the Falcon defense surrendered as they kept the score at 3-2 for the final and victory.

Sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Leo (Dunmore, Pa.) was spectacular in net for the Falcons as she made 12 saves on the afternoon. NVU-Johnson junior goalkeeper Emily Carchia (North Haven, Conn.) made just one save on four shots over the first 45 minutes before freshman Isabel Atkisson (Baltimore, Md.) recorded three saves on three attempts in the final 45 minutes of action.

Fisher will return to action on Wednesday afternoon as they host Wentworth Institute of Technology in a 3pm kickoff at Hormel Stadium. The Badgers will host Vermont Technical College on Thursday afternoon in their next scheduled contest.
