MBB: Wildcats Beaten at Home 89-76 by NVU-Johnson.

UTICA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's basketball team lost to the NVU-Johnson Badgers on Saturday 89-76 to fall to 1-1 in North Atlantic Conference play this season. The Badgers got out to a 12-point lead in the first half and held onto that lead, growing it to as many as 20 points to earn their first NAC win of the season. The Wildcats shot better from the field and from three-point range but were eaten up on the glass, giving Johnson 21 second-chance points to the Wildcats two. SUNY Poly is now 6-4 this season with a 1-1 record in NAC play.

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

  • Jesse O'Dell had a solid day for the Wildcats offensively. The senior had a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double with four assists and a block. He is now just 44 points shy of 1,000 for his career.
  • Dylan Ernst knocked down a game-high three 3-pointers. He finished with 14 points, two rebounds, a block, and an assist.
  • Maleek View led the Badgers with 18 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
  • Yeskin Walker Williams had 15 points and a team-high five assists for the Badgers.
  • Samuel Stephens and Romelle Watt had 11 and 12 points respectively off the bench for Johnson.
  • Levi Spina had a game-high six assists, 10 points, a pair of rebounds, a steal, and a block for the Wildcats.

 

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will travel to RPI on Wednesday, December 7th for a non-conference game. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
