Badgers Fall to Owls 74-48

PRESQUE ISLE, ME.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's basketball team dropped a North Atlantic Conference contest to the UMPI Owls by a score of 74-48 on Friday evening. 

The Owls came out with a defensive mindset, holding the Badgers to 21 first half points and 35% shooting from the field. UMPI came out red hot with a 40-point first half off 51% shooting and 50% from three. A full team effort early as five UMPI players finished the first with six or more points. The Badgers were led by Kiyl Mack and Robert Dubose who each chipped in ten points. Javon Daniels scored nine points off the bench for the Badgers shooting 3-5 from behind the arc. 

The Owls took the 40-21 lead headed into the break. Out of the break the Owls defense held the Badgers to 31% shooting. The Owls out rebounded the Badgers 42-25 and controlled the pace in the second half to earn the win in regulation. 

With the loss the Badgers move to 6-17 overall and 4-7 in NAC play.

Men's basketball concludes the conference weekend tomorrow when they face UMPI at 3:00pm.
