Men's Soccer Earn Immediate Impact Commitment from Diego Gray for 2020 Season

JOHNSON, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's soccer program and Head Coach Shane Bufano announced the signing of Diego Gray earlier this week.

Diego Gray has signed the necessary paperwork and is the second deposited commitment in the class of 2024 from the Pacific Northwest for the NVU-Johnson men's soccer team. Gray joins the Badgers from West Seattle High School as he has been an integral part of the Wildcats midfield for three seasons. West Seattle High School opens up their 2020 campaign on March 17 against Lakeside High.

When arrived at NVU-Johnson Gray will pursue a degree in Business. "I chose NVU-Johnson because the campus is beautiful," said Gray. "The institution is close to some of my family and I enjoy the community feeling that the school brings." While Gray resides in Washington, he has grandparents in Greensboro and South Burlington Vt.

In his junior season with West Seattle, Diego was an All-Metro Boys 3A Mountain Division Conference Selection as a distributor in the midfield for the Wildcats.  On the club scene, he competes in the NPSL and has played for more than half a decade with the talent rich Southlake Select TUSK United.   Diego's 02 TUSK United team has placed first in the NPSL 2002 Division 1 League in 2017, 2018, and 2019.  In the 2018 and 2019 they won the Washington State Presidents Cup.

"Diego had a great visit this past weekend and will fit in immediately.  He has a deft touch on the ball and is fantastic distributor.  He has had great experience at a high level both in high school and in club.  His demeanor off the field is equally impressive as he promises to be a great teammate," Said Head Coach Shane Bufano.

The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's soccer team plan to announce additional commitments in the upcoming days.
