MTEN: Cadets Drop Badgers

STOWE, Vt. – The Johnson State College men's tennis team fell to Norwich University 9-0 opener on Thursday afternoon at Topnotch Resort.

Doubles

Norwich took all three doubles matches to start the match. The team Gerrit Lane (Moretown, Vt.) and Austin Walters (Grantham N.H.) dropped first doubles 8-0. John Folsom (Califon, N.J.) and Ethan Hutchinson (Canterbury, N.H.) fell in second flight 8-1, while Evan Daigneault (Newfane, Vt.) and Quinn Lambert (Joppatowne, Md.) lost third flight doubles 8-1.

Singles

The Cadets swept singles to take the 9-0 victory. In first flight, Lane fell 6-1, 6-2. Walters dropped straight 6-0 sets in second singles, while Joseph Holloway (London, England) fell in third flight singles 6-2, 6-1.

Folsom took three points in the first set of fourth singles, but ultimately fell in fourth singles 6-3, 6-0 victory. Hutchinson dropped the fifth flight 6-2, 6-1, while Quinn Lambert (Joppatown, Md.) dropped sixth singles 6-0, 6-0.
