Men's Volleyball Drops Conference Match against Dean College

JOHNSON, Vt. — The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's volleyball team dropped a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) match in straight sets against Dean College at Carter Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. 

The Bulldogs took the first set 25-20 to earn the early 1-0 advantage. Down 19-15 in the second set, the Badgers went on a 5-1 run to tie the set at 20-all. The Bulldogs answered with back-to-back points before kills by Michael Weston and Dominic Phelps tied the set 22-22. Dean answered with three straight points to seal a 25-22 set victory over the Badgers to take a 2-0 lead. The Badgers were unable to stop the Bulldogs' attack in the third set as Dean College took the set 25-19 to win in straight sets. 

Michael Weston led the Badgers with seven kills and eight digs. Jesse Streeter tallied six kills, eight digs, and two blocks and Ryan Willette added three kills and ten digs. Jason Madrid had a game-high 18 assists. 

With the loss, the Badgers move to 4-9 on the season and 0-2 in NECC action.
