XC: Johnson Runs in Plansky Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Johnson State College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Plansky Invitational hosted by Williams College on Saturday. The women placed 3rd as a team while the men came in 5th.

WOMEN'S RECAP

Brynn Cairns (Rutland, Vt.) finished in seventh place to lead the Badgers. Ashley Fogg (White River Junction, Vt.) came in next for the Badgers in 20th, while Sarah Sodaro (Monkton, Vt.) and Emily Cass (Braintree, Vt.) followed, finishing 21st and 22nd, respectively. Elizabeth Tapia (Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin was Johnson's fifth scorer, coming in 24th.

MEN'S RECAP

Jacob Greenia (Sheldon, Vt.) led the way for Johnson with a 39th place finish, while Daniel Ott (Wyoming, N.Y.) and Kyle Duffy (Waterbury Center, Vt.) followed right behind in 40th and 41stSheldon Billings (Ossipee, N.H.) and Cole Shebak (Brookline, N.H.) rounded out the top five for Johnson with 43rd and 46th place finishes.

NEXT UP 

Jonson will compete in the North Atlantic Conference Championship at UMaine-Farmington on Saturday, October 28th. The men will run first at 11:00 a.m., followed by the women at noon.
