Badgers Conclude 2020 Spring Games with Loss to Elizabethtown

CLERMONT, FL.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's softball team concluded their final game of the 2020 Spring Games in a loss to Elizabethtown College on Saturday afternoon at Legends Way Ballfields.

Lindsey LaPerle, Mia Blackwell, and Annika Dyhrberg each recorded a hit for the Badgers in the 18-0 loss to the Blue Jays. The Badgers struggled to find the bats in their final game of the afternoon. The Blue Jays started strong scoring 11 runs in the first two innings and held the Badgers scoreless. 

Lindsey Fasolo led the way for the Blue Jays connecting on three hits for a game high 5 RBI's. Courtney Fitzsimons recorded four hits and batted in two runs. The Badgers limited the Blue Jays in the top of the third inning retiring the side but seven runs in the final two innings proved to be too much as the Blue Jays earned the win. 

Tori Caputo earned the win on the mound for the Blue Jays improving to 1-0 on the season. Bridget Hamel pitched the duration earning three strike outs for the Badgers. Hamel falls to 0-10. As a team the NVU-Johnson women's softball team move to 0-10 on the season overall and will return back to action on Sunday, March 29 when they travel to Middlebury College for double header action.
