Women's Volleyball Captures NAC Win Over Husson

CASTINE, ME.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's volleyball team traveled to Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday to face Husson University in their first match of a North Atlantic Conference quad match. The Badgers beat the Eagles 3-1.

The Badgers were impressive through four sets to earn the 3-1 win over the Eagles. Lauren Havill led the way with 15 kills. Ashley Emery contributed 13 kills on 31 total attacks and added 15 digs. Porsche Johnson was impressive providing 12 kills and senior Nikola Knapova added 11 kills and nine digs.

The Badgers earned the win in the first set edging out the Eagles by a score of 25-23. The continued to be impressive in set two with a strong performance from Mason Lores who recorded a career high 51 assists for the match. Lores was strong defensively and ignited the Badgers to the 25-20 victory in set two. 

Husson took the third set by a score of 25-22 and was led by Mary Grace Power who had a team high 12 kills. Hanna Hembrow added 24 assists for the Eagles, but it wasn't enough as the Badgers closed out the fourth and final set by a score of 25-21.

Women's volleyball improves to 12-9 on the season and 3-0 in North Atlantic Conference play.
