Women's Volleyball Tabs Second Commitment for 2020 Season

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's volleyball program received another commitment for the 2020 season earlier this week.

Bella Baragona a native of Milwaukie, Oregon has signed the necessary paperwork and has committed to head coach Keven John and the NVU-Johnson women's volleyball program for the 2020 season. When arrived at Northern Vermont University Baragona plans to pursue a degree in Environmental Science.

NVU-Johnson stood out as the right school for Baragona and made the decision process very simple. "I love the small community and the feeling you get while walking around campus", said Baragona. "The vibe I got was that everyone cares and looks out for each other, and I love that".

Baragona, a member of the Rex Putnam High School varsity girls' volleyball team and T.E.A.M Hiki No Volleyball team has earned multiple awards throughout her career being named Honorable Mention in 2017 and 2018 and 2ndTeam All-League in 2019. Baragona was also an impact player competing at the club level for seven years.

Baragona's experience at the club level will translate to the college level and she will make an immediate impact competing in the North Atlantic Conference in 2020. "I am super happy to be joining the Badger Athletic Family! Every single athlete, coach, staff and faculty member I met were all so sweet. You can really tell that everyone loves what they do". The transition under the guidance of head coach Keven John is something Baragona is excited about as a defensive specialist. "I am excited to be coached by Coach John, I love how he thinks about defense and how to play the serve receive".

Bella Baragona is the second commitment for the NVU-Johnson women's volleyball program for the 2020 season. The women's volleyball program will announce additional commitments in the near future.
