Cass Earns Medalist Honors at NVU-Johnson Invitational

JOHNSON, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's cross-country team placed first overall in the NVU-Johnson Invitational on Saturday Morning to open up the 2019 season.

The NVU-Johnson Invitational took place for the first time in two years Saturday morning. Head Coach Shawn Woods honored the seniors competing in the race for their final competition at home. Senior Emily Cass paced the Badgers earning medalist honors in the opening race of the season recording a time of 27:45. 

Teammate Kiana Johnson recorded a top five finish with a time of 32:54, while Devyn Thompson finished fifth overall with a time of 33:01. Anais Dutton and Klare Ware rounded out the Badger finishes with times of 37:27 and 37:33.

SUNY Canton had two top five finishers as Kaitlyn Trusty finished with a time of 31:00 and Malyssa Shenko finished with a time of 31:01.

The Badgers will head to Northern Vermont University-Lyndon on Saturday, September 7 for the NVU-Lyndon Invitational.
