Title: Weekend in Review 10/1-10/2/2022 

 

This weekend started off with Men's golf going to Jay Peak for the Lous Jarvis Memorial. The men got 3rd in the competition with a score of 349 which was 61 over par. Michael Amendola placed second individually with a score of 75 which was 3 over par, Adiance Cheromiah tied for 7th with a score of 82 with a 10 over par, Joey Giroux tied for 15th with a score of 90 which was 18 over par, and Lafe Pottala was in 20th and had a score of 102 which was 30 over par. 

As well on Saturday the men and women played SUNY Canton away. The men's game ended in a tie 0-0 they couldn't get the offense running as well as they would have hoped with Carter Hubley being the only one to have a shot on goal, but Patrick Austin was a guardian at the net getting ten saves and keeping the game tied. This game puts their record at 2-5-2.  

After the Men's game the women played against SUNY Canton and to the same effect their game also ended in a tie 0-0. Jordan Pelland, Peyton Fairchild, and Samantha Flynn each got one shot on goal and Denyce Ruiz got two shots on goal. Sadly, none of the shots could find the back of the net. Isabel Atkisson kept the game tied getting four saves. The women's record is 0-4-4. 

Women's Volleyball traveled to Husson on Saturday and had a back-and-forth game against them. They came out hot winning the first set 25-16, dropped the second set 19-25, lost the third set by a narrow margin of 21-25, but they came back to win the fourth set 25-20, but sadly couldn't ride the momentum to close the game out losing the fifth set and the match 7-15. The team played well though Christina Betham leads the game in kills getting 27 hitting an impressive .385. Max Ludlow followed up with 12 kills hitting a .206 while also adding another 6 service aces to their belt, as well as contributing on the defensive end with 15 digs. Nataliea Medina got 7 kills hitting a .308. Mason Lores had 38 assists and 17 digs. Jimmi Lynn Williams was able to help on defense as well getting 13 digs. After the game the women's record was 6-6 

The next day on Sunday Women's Volleyball also had a game against the top of the conference 11-2 Maine Maritime. The first set was close but ended up short losing 22-25, the next to sets weren't as close. They lost 12-25 and 16-25. Christina Betham had 7 kills, Nataliea Medina had 3 kills, and Max Ludlow and Alana Lewis had 1 kill. Mason Lores had 10 assists. Everyone tried to do their part on defense and the team had 23 digs with Max Ludlow and Mercedes Durden leading the team with 5 digs each with Jimmi Lyn Williams getting 4 digs. The women's record is now 6-7. 

Men and Women Soccer have home games on Saturday and Sunday  

Saturday: Against Husson, Men start at 1 PM Women play after them at 3:30 PM 

Sunday: Against Me.-Presque Isle. Men start at 12 PM Women play after them at 2:30 PM
