Tyrell Gamble Commits to Men's Basketball for 2020-2021 Campaign

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's basketball program and Head Coach Miles Smith received an additional commitment for the 2020-2021 season on Monday morning.

Tyrell Gamble has signed the necessary paperwork and has committed to Northern Vermont University-Johnson and the men's basketball program. Gamble comes to NVU-Johnson from Riverdale, Georgia where he was a student-athlete at Lovejoy High School. When arrived at NVU-Johnson Gamble plans to pursue a degree in Allied Health.

"I chose Northern Vermont University because of the academic offerings. I liked the variety of programs they have to offer, and they also had what I wanted to study," said Gamble. "I am extremely excited to join the Badger athletic family and men's basketball program because of the bond that the players have with one another."

Head coach Miles Smith believes Gamble will provide depth in the backcourt for the Badgers during this upcoming season. "Our recruitment late in the year was focused on adding depth to the guard position and Tyrell brings that to our program," said Smith. "Tyrell comes from the same area as Floyd Davis who is the returning NAC Rookie of the Year. Tyrell's ability to shoot the ball along with his size will be valuable to us as we continue to progress."

Gamble becomes the fifth commitment for the men's basketball program in 2020. Gamble joins the likes of David Jordan, Thomas Nguyen, Josiah Wimberly, and George Zelman.

Coach Miles Smith plans to announce additional commitments within the near future.
