Men's and Women's Basketball Team Members Named to All-NAC Team

Four members of the Vermont State University Johnson Basketball programs were honored by the North Atlantic Conference Tuesday afternoon for their efforts during the 2023-2024 season. Senior Gabby Wardwell, who was named to the All-NAC Second Team, had a standout season that culminated in securing her 1000th career rebound and leading all of Division III women's basketball with an average of 16.3 rebounds per game. Over the course of the season, Wardwell led the team with 17.1 points per game (377 total), 16.3 rebounds per game (354 total), and, showing her durability and resiliency, 35.5 minutes per game while suiting up for 22 contests. Wardwell also ranked 5th in DIII women's basketball, with 18 double-doubles.

Raymond Baka was named to the All-NAC Third team after a dominant year from the junior forward. Baka led the men's program across points (403), rebounds (247), FG% (50.9%), and assists (51). Among the conference leaders in points, rebounds, and blocks, this was also Baka's second year in a row to average a double-double in conference play.

Senior Matt House and First Year Darone Frierson were recognized as conference athletes who exemplify integrity, fair play, and the ideals of sportsmanship on the court, with their selection to be named to the All-NAC Sportsmanship team. Their selection to the Sportsmanship Team comes as no surprise, as they embody what it means to be a Johnson Badger every day, representing and leading their teams by example both on and off the court.
