Men's Golf Kaden Swett finishes in Top 10 of SUNY Canton Invitational.

The NVU-Johnson Men's Golf team opened up the 2021 Fall Golf season by competing in an Invitational at St. Lawrence Country Club hosted by SUNY Canton.  The event featured 6 teams representing 3 universities, SUNY Canton, NVU-Johnson and Clarkson.  The Badgers had four players competing in the opening match.  Kaden Swett, Garrison French, Joe Giroux and Lafe Pottala made up the Badgers team.  

Last spring the NVU-Johnson Men's team competed in the the NAC West Divisional tournaments played on April 30, 2021 in Delhi, New York. The Badgers were highlighted by first year golfer Joe Giroux and senior Kaden Swett.  In the Divisional tournament, Giroux earned Rookie of the Year honors for the Badgers as the lowest scoring first-year player in the West match. Giroux shot a 92 overall to earn the honor.  Swett shooting an impressive 76 overall in a tie for fourth place to earn West Division First Team All-Conference honors.  French and Pottala also competed in the West Divisional tournament for the Badgers.

In this years opening match Kaden Swett was once again a top performer for the Badgers.  Shooting an 81 which was good for an 8th place finish out of 28 golfers.  Joe Giroux lead the Badgers with 2 birdies while Swett finished with 1 birdie and 9 pairs.  The Badgers Garrison French finished with 6 pairs thru the round of 18.

On the day the Badgers Team score was 370 which placed them 6th out of the 6 teams.

The Badgers return to action this Saturday September 18th hosting the Lou Jarvis Memorial at Jay Peak Country Club.
