JOHNSON, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson softball program and head coach Anya Adams tabbed their second commitment for the 2022 season.

Bekkah Lambert has signed the necessary paperwork and has committed to Northern Vermont University-Johnson and the women's softball program. Lambert is a native of Winooski, Vermont and a student-athlete at Winooski High School.

When arrived at NVU-Johnson, Lambert will pursue a degree in secondary education with a focus on English. "I've heard great things about the education department at NVU-Johnson. My uncle used to work at the institution and he constantly raved about the school and education."

Throughout her time at Winooski High School, Lambert was an honor roll student for all four years of high school and named to the National Honors Society in both her junior and senior year. Throughout her high school experience Lambert played a huge part in her community and was awarded a community service scholarship for serving 1000+ hours in her community. In her senior year, Lambert was named Scholar Athlete of the Year and was chosen to attend an Athletic Leadership Conference by her athletic director at Winooski.

On the playing surface, Lambert was named captain of her varsity softball team as a sophomore and held the role throughout her senior year.

"I'm super excited to compete for Coach Adams at the next level. I am super excited to see how I will develop under her guidance and I look forward to learning from her as she seems like a very knowledgeable coach," said Lambert. "I've played with the same group of girls my whole life so it'll be a thrill to get the opportunity to start over with a whole new team, which will be a nice change."

Coach Anya Adams is excited for the addition of Lambert. "I am so excited to have someone with Bekkah's work ethic and dedication join the program," said Adams. "That type of drive coupled with her ability to pitch and play multiple defensive positions makes her a valuable addition to our team."

Lambert becomes the second commitment for Coach Adams and the NVU-Johnson softball program and will add depth to the roster in 2022. Coach Adams plans to announce additional commitments in the near future.
