Destiny Allen Adds Depth to NVU-Johnson Softball for 2022 Campaign

JOHNSON, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson softball program and Head Coach Anya Adams announced an additional commitment for the 2022 season earlier this week. This is the fourth commitment for Adams and the Badgers for the 2022 season.

Destiny Allen is the latest commitment for the Badgers. The Columbus, Georgia native has signed the necessary paperwork and will arrive to NVU-Johnson in the fall of 2021. Allen comes to NVU-Johnson after competing as a student-athlete at Shaw High School. When arrived at NVU-Johnson she plans to pursue a degree in Health and Sport Psychology.

"I chose NVU-Johnson because of the people. Throughout the recruiting process Coach Adams and others on campus reached out to me and were very welcoming," said Allen. "Throughout the recruiting process Coach Adams communicated with me well and I felt a strong bond between us throughout the process".

Throughout her time at Shaw High School, Shaw was named to the honor roll and senior counsel. As an athlete Shaw was a member of her high school basketball team, flag football team and softball team.

Coach Adams is excited about the offensive ability of Shaw and thinks she has the opportunity to make an immediate impact for the Badgers in 2022. "Destiny's "get it done" attitude will be a welcome addition to the program and help us reach new goals. Her ability to slap as well as her speed on the base path makes her an offensive threat. I'm excited to see the impact she will have in our conference!"

The NVU-Johnson women's softball program has four commitments for the 2022 season and looks to make a run in the North Atlantic Conference, first year Head Coach Anya Adams plans to announce additional commitments for the 2022 season in the near future.
