Mariah Muskin Set to Make Immediate Impact for Badger Softball in 2022

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson softball program and Head Coach Anya Adams have received an additional commitment for the 2022 season.

Mariah Muskin has signed the necessary paperwork and made her commitment to NVU-Johnson and the women's softball program earlier this week. A native of Chicago, Illinois and a student-athlete at Ridgewood High School, Muskin is excited for the opportunity that NVU-Johnson will provide her. When arrived, Muskin plans to pursue a degree in Clinical Child Psychology.

"I chose NVU-Johnson because of the athletics department and the softball program," said Muskin. "I felt through the recruiting process that I could truthfully make an immediate impact and I genuinely think my presence will help build on the NVU-Johnson softball culture. The mountains and scenery on campus also make it a very special place."

Coach Adams is very excited about the addition of Muskin and believes she will make an immediate impact for the Badgers on the mound. " I am ecstatic over the commitment from Mariah. She strives for excellence on and off the field. She is an experienced pitcher with movement that will help NVU-Johnson become strong conference competitors. I can't wait to have her on the field with us."

In the classroom, Muskin earned National Honor Society multiple years both in language and mathematics. She was a four-year All-Academic award winner while earning All-Conference honors for her athletic achievement.

"Playing for Coach Adams is going to be great. While talking to her she showed the same positive direction she wants to take for the program that I have wanted in a team. We have a similar mindset that revolves around work ethic and that makes me very excited moving forward. Joining the Badger Athletic family is going to be exciting and I look forward to be an addition to an already tight-knit community that really shows spirit for the entire department and institution."

Mariah Muskin becomes the fifth deposited athlete for the Badgers and Head Coach Anya Adams! Coach Adams plans to announce additional commitments in the near future.
