Allyson Hefner Commits to NVU-Johnson Softball

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson softball program and Head Coach Anya Adams recently announced their tenth commitment for the 2022 season.

Allyson Hefner a native of Stillwater, New York and a student-athlete at Stillwater Central High School has signed the necessary paperwork and will arrive on campus at NVU-Johnson in the fall of 2021.

"I chose NVU-Johnson not only because I was excited to play softball, but also because it had my exact academic interests," said Hefner. When arrived at NVU-Johnson, Hefner plans to pursue a degree in Psychology while also minoring in Sport and Fitness Administration.

During her time at Stillwater Central High School, Hefner was named to the National Honors Society and has competed both for her high school and travel teams year-round. Hefner has been named MVP multiple times and hopes to bring her experience to the Badgers program right away.

"Alyson's experience at first base and her potential in the batter's box will help further the development of our softball program," said Adams. "I know she will come in with an excellent attitude and willingness to work hard which fits perfectly with our team culture."

Hefner is also very excited about the opportunity to compete for Coach Adams. "It has always been a goal of mine to play softball in college ever since I first started playing. I am extremely excited to play for Coach Adams. I have talked to her over the course of several months, and while I was nervous to make the commitment, after having a conversation with her I have no doubts that I wanted to be a Badger."
