Softball Adds Jennavieve Rapoza for 2022 Campaign

JOHNSON, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson softball program and Head Coach Anya Adams have tabbed an additional commitment for the 2022 season.

Jennavieve Rapoza a native of Honolulu, Hawaii and a student-athlete at President Theodore Roosevelt High School has signed the necessary paperwork and will arrive to the NVU-Johnson campus in the fall of 2021.

"I chose NVU-Johnson because of the small community and the family aspect," said Rapoza. "I hope to travel and experience a different way of life other than what I have experienced in Hawaii.

During her time at President Theodore Roosevelt High School Rapoza was named to the honor roll and has been certified as a USA Softball umpire where she will be officiating the 12 and under A Division National Tournament. Rapoza also was the recipient of the JROTC Varsity Athletics Award.

"Jenna is a true power hitter who can go the distance," said Adams. "She will step in and make an immediate impact for the Badgers from the box and in the circle as she is also a fundamentally strong pitcher. In addition, Jenna has amazing footwork and glovework at first. She is solid throughout the game and I can't wait to have her on the field with us."

When arrived at NVU-Johnson, Raoza plans to pursue a degree in biology with the hopes of eventually working her way into the pre-med field.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to play the sport I love and have been playing for more than half my life. While also having great support and a close-knit community to continue my education. I am also very excited for the opportunity to compete for Coach Adams. She seems like an understanding, energetic, and all-around great coach."

Jennavieve Rapoza becomes the twelfth commitment for Coach Adams and the Badgers. The team plans to announce additional commitments in the near future.
