Evelyn Brubaker Commits to NVU-Johnson Softball

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson softball program and Head Coach Anya Adams announced late last week the addition of Evelyn Brubaker for the 2022 season.

Brubaker a native of Tucson, Arizona and a student-athlete at Desert View High School has signed the necessary paperwork and will arrive on campus in the fall of 2021. 

"I chose Northern Vermont University-Johnson because it was an affordable option and I have the opportunity to continue to play softball," said Brubaker. "I wanted to go somewhere far and new, so NVU-Johnson was the perfect choice." 

"Evelyn is a highly competitive athlete who is stellar in the outfield as well as behind the plate," said Adams. "She is a true power hitter who also possesses threatening speed on the base path. I am thrilled Evelyn chose our program as she brings dedication, strong work ethic, and a skill set that is sure to make an impact in our conference. She will be a true leader on and off the field!"

During her time at Desert View High School, Brubaker was named to the honor roll throughout each year of her high school career. She is also a member of the AVID Club, and Sports Medicine Club. On the softball field Brubaker was named Most Improved Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year.

"I am very excited to play with new players at the next level," said Brubaker. "I want to be surrounded by athletes that want to play as much as I do. Coach Adams is very nice and is excited for me to be part of the team, I look forward to playing for her."

Coach Adams plans to announce additional commitments in the near future.
