Annika Dyhrberg Headlines Softball All-Conference Honors as Co-Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year

WATERVILLE, ME.-The North Atlantic Conference announced 2021 Softball NAC All-Conference honors earlier today. NVU-Johnson's Annika Dyhrberg headlines the conference honors as she was named Co-Senior Scholar Athlete for the 2021 season.

Annika Dyhrberg (Falmouth, Maine) is the 2020-21 NAC Softball Co-Senior Scholar Athlete. She was also selected as the Senior Scholar Athlete for Women's Tennis this spring. She graduates this weekend with a 3.86 GPA as an Elementary Education major and plans to teach kindergarten next fall. Dyhrberg earned a spot on either the President's List or Dean's List every semester at NVU-Johnson. She is a four-year member of the Badgers' Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), serving as president for the past two years. She is also the current president of the conference-level SAAC. During her time in Johnson, Dyhrberg served as a substitute teacher in local schools and also as Resident Advisor, Orientation Leader, and an academic tutor for her peers on campus. She has been named to the NAC All-Academic Team multiple times.

On the field this spring, Dyhrberg split time between the outfield and second base. She tallied nine hits including a double and a home run. She crossed the plate for two runs and drove in nine. Dyhrberg was also part of the NVU-Johnson women's tennis team that competed in the conference championship match.

Eleven women were also named to the Softball Sportsmanship Team, reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees have positively affected the sport culture and game environment by clearly demonstrating sportsmanship and integrity beyond playing rules and etiquette. Dyhrberg took home that honor for NVU-Johnson as well.
