Player of the Year

McKenna Brodeur, UMaine-Farmington
Senior / Oakland, Maine

The Women's Soccer 2021 Player of the Year is McKenna Brodeur from the University of Maine at Farmington. Brodeur led the league with six assists (.75 per game) in eight NAC games this fall. An aggressive player and offensive powerhouse, she scored nine goals (1.13 gpg) and tallied 24 points, averaging 3.0 points per NAC game. Across all 17 regular season games, the forward put 14 balls in the cage and divvied out eight assists for 36 points this season. She took 75 shots; 34 were on goal (.453), making her feared by league goaltenders. The First Team All-Conference player nailed the only penalty kick she took this fall and snagged three NAC Player of the Week nods during her incredible 2021 season.

Defensive Player of the Year

Margot Simeon, Maine Maritime Academy
Senior / Findlay, Ohio

For the second time in her career, Margot Simeon of Maine Maritime Academy is the NAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year. Simeon led a defensive line that tallied four NAC shutouts and required her goalkeeper to make only 19 saves in eight conference games. The Mariners allowed only six goals (.75 per game) in NAC contests. On the season, the Mariners' defense logged five shutouts and 27 goals-against (1.69 GAA), thanks to Simeon's heads-up play. Twice named NAC Defensive Player of the Week this fall, the All-Conference First Team player also tallied two assists and two goals for six points this fall. Both goals were game-winners in conference matchups for the defender with a smart touch.

Rookie of the Year

Natalie Aviolla, Husson University
First-Year / Hudson, Florida

Natalie Aviolla of Husson University is the 2021 NAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Year. The first-year phenom made a fast impression in the conference as an offensive menace. In total for the season, the forward led the conference with 18 goals and 42 points, and also tallied six assists and two game-winning goals. Aviolla racked up four hat tricks this season with a hot foot that took 85 shots, 47 of which were on target, for .553 shooting. She claimed NAC Rookie of the Week honors four times, including one week in which she doubled up with a Player of the Week award, and is a member of the All-Conference First Team.

Impressively, one yellow card and no red cards were issued to the Beavers throughout the entire season. Coach Wilkie developed Player of the Year McKenna Brodeur and placed midfielder Audrey Fletcher on the Second Team and defender Emily Larochelle on the Honorable Mention squad.
