Aubry Sweley Commits to Women's Track and Field

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University women's track and field program and Head Coach Shawn Woods have added an additional commitment for the 2022 season. 

Aubry Sweley a native of Hastings, Nebraska and a student-athlete at Hastings High School has signed the necessary paperwork and will arrive on campus at NVU-Johnson in the fall of 2021. 

"When coach Woods reached out to me after seeing my NCAA profile I was shocked," said Sweley. "I immediately looked up Northern Vermont University and I thought it was a beautiful place. Attending NVU-Johnson will be a great way to experience the Northeast."

When arrived at NVU-Johnson, Sweley plans to pursue a degree in sports medicine and engineering. "I'm thrilled to become a Badger. I cannot wait to make memories in Vermont. I am also very excited about the opportunity to work, train and compete for Coach Woods." 

For the Badgers, Sweley will compete in the Triple Jump and Long Jump. 

"Aubry brings a true love, a strong work ethic, and excellent accomplishments to the jumping events. The jumping pit will never be lonely with her on campus," said Woods. "Outside of competing, Aubry has worked on training wild horses and enjoys teaching children to ride. As a result, she will bring a unique skill set to our athletic departments much appreciated community service projects including Kids Night Out."

Head Coach Shawn Woods plans to announce additional commitments in the near future for the 2022 season.
