Hardesty, OK Sprinter/Hurdler Rivera Commits to NVU-Johnson

Johnson, VT – The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's track and field team has added a new commit for the 2021-2022 season.

Joining the Badgers this fall is (Patricia) Pati Rivera, a sprinter and hurdler out of Hardesty High School in Hardesty, Oklahoma. She has made her deposit, securing her enrollment at NVU-Johnson. Head Coach Shawn Woods says "Pati brings us the ability to do both the shorter and longer hurdle race. In addition, her sprint speed will assist us in the open 100 as well as the 4x100 relay. Looking forward to welcoming the track team's second recruit this upcoming season from the Southwestern part of the U.S."

At NVU-Johnson, Rivera is planning on majoring in Performing Arts with a concentration in Theater. In high school Rivera earned multiple medals in different tracks meets. She was also a three-time member of the Principle's Honor Roll and the Valedictorian of her graduating class.

Rivera chose NVU-Johnson because it had everything she was looking for. She is excited to become a Badger and to run for Coach Woods.

Rivera's favorite personal athletic moment was competing in regionals for cross country. Her favorite food is ice cream, and her favorite athlete is Javier Hernandez.

Additional track and field commitments for the 2021-2022 season will be announced in the future.
