Schoonmaker ready to make a splash for the Badgers Women's Triathlon Program

Johnson, VT – The Northern Vermont University-Johnson triathlon team has added a commitment for the 2021-2022 season.

Hailing from Clover, South Carolina Victoria Schoonmaker is a triathlete and a graduate of Clover High School. She has made her deposit, making her NVU-Johnson's newest triathlon commit.

Schoonmaker will major in Environmental Science with a concentration in Policy and Advocacy. In high school she earned five varsity letters, as well as qualifying for states in swimming.

Schoonmaker chose NVU-Johnson because she really enjoys the atmosphere here. In addition to this she made an instant connection with Coach Loeffler the first time they spoke. She specializes in swimming and is excited to compete in triathlon for the first time.

From Coach Loeffler, "I'm very excited to bring Tori onto our squad.  She comes from a competitive swimming background and possesses a strong work ethic that we highly value on the team. I look forward to building upon her strong swim foundation and watching her earn many accolades while competing for the Badgers. "

After being asked about her favorite athletic moment, Schoonmaker recalled a time when she traveled to Florida for a swim meet. She said the environment of the meet was very good, stating "The camaraderie there was just amazing." Her favorite food is Pho, and her favorite athlete is Lilly King.

Additional triathlon commitments for the 2021-2022 season will be announced in the future.
