Badgers Women's Volleyball Advances to NAC East Final with 3-0 Victory over Husson University

CASTINE, Maine – NVU-Johnson women's volleyball defeated Husson University 3-0 (25-19, 28-26, 25-23) on Saturday afternoon in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division Quarterfinal matchup.

 

How it Happened: In a competitive back-and-forth match, the Badgers used their strong defense to lift over the Eagles. In the first set, NVU-Johnson used an eight-point run late in the set to pull away from the Eagles, winning 25-19. The second set proved to be more competitive with NVU-Johnson using a six-point run early in the set to carry them through a close 28-26 set. The third set was also a close one, with the Badgers recording 13 kills as a team to claim the 3-0 victory.

 

Inside the Numbers: Vanessa Chavez led the Badgers with a game-high 12 kills, ten digs, two assists, and two aces. Jimmi Lynn Williams chipped in a game-high 13 digs, while teammate Masoon Lores recorded 23 assists, eight digs, three kills, and one ace.

 

Alyvia McIntrye led the Eagles with a game-high 30 assists, 12 digs, and three kills, while Julia Leavitt tallied nine kills, three digs, and one ace.

 

Up Next: The Badgers improve to 9-10 on the season and advance to the NAC East Division Semifinal. NVU-Johnson will face the top seeded Maine Maritime Academy tomorrow, Sunday, October 31 at 12:00pm in Smith Gym.
